Marie Ortmayer, alumna of the University of Chicago (1906), was the first woman to serve as a medical advisor at the university. As president of the Women's Athletic Association, she helped to develop an intramural sports program for women. Dr. Ortmayer is pictured as Avonia in the play, "Trelawny of the Wells," by A. W. Pinero.
